South Carolina Sheriff’s Office Cracks Down on Drug Trafficking with Major Arrests and Seizure

South Carolina Sheriff’s Office Makes Two Arrests and Seizes Large Amount of Drugs and Weapons

On January 24, the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office conducted a narcotics operation that resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a significant amount of drugs and weapons. The operation took place at a residence on Millwood Farm Road, where authorities executed a search warrant.

During the search, officers found a large quantity of marijuana, including vacuum-sealed bags and THC-laced products such as gummies. They also discovered a shotgun and a rifle. The total amount of drugs seized was approximately 13 pounds, with more than 10 pounds of it being marijuana.

Two individuals, 32-year-old Tyrek Hanton and 33-year-old Laquinton Willimas, were arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana. The sheriff, Leroy Ravenell, expressed his frustration with the bright pink suitcase used to transport the drugs, stating that he is “still trying to find a charge for that ugly thing.”

The sheriff’s office is working to process the evidence and build a case against the two individuals. The operation is a significant blow to drug trafficking in the area and demonstrates the sheriff’s office commitment to combating illegal drug activity.
