Ohio’s Recreational Marijuana Sales Soar to New Heights Despite Challenging Start

Ohio’s Legal Recreational Marijuana Sales Continue to Soar

Just one week after the first legal recreational marijuana sale was made in Ohio, dispensary operators are reporting a significant increase in sales. Despite challenging conditions, including a 48-hour ramp-up period and limited advertising, the Sunnyside dispensary in Cincinnati saw a line of customers around the building on its opening day.

According to Jason Erkes, of Cresco Labs, which operates Sunnyside, the response was overwhelming, with over 1,000 customers visiting the store every day. This is a remarkable achievement, considering the store’s busiest location in the country is usually its top performer.

Ethos, another dispensary in Lebanon, has also seen a surge in sales since it began offering recreational marijuana four days ago. Julie Power, the vice president of retail, reported an increase in customers and sales, with many adult-use customers seeking information about the program.

Power expects this trend to continue, citing the dispensary’s preparations to meet the surge in demand. The state has yet to release overall sales and tax revenue numbers for the first week, but it’s clear that Ohio’s legal recreational marijuana market is off to a strong start.

As the market continues to grow, it will be interesting to see how it evolves and what impact it has on the state’s economy. For now, it seems that Ohio is well on its way to becoming a major player in the legal marijuana industry.
