Moorestown Planning Board to Consider Recreational Cannabis Dispary Near Police Station

A proposed recreational cannabis dispensary is set to go before the Moorestown Township planning board for approval, potentially locating in a vacant lot near the police station and municipal court. The dispensary, “Miles of Green,” submitted the winning bid to lease a suite in the Moorestown West Corporate Center for $5,200 a month.

While some residents are in favor of the dispensary, citing potential tax revenue for the township, others have expressed concerns about the location. “If it’s legal, why would it affect the police department? They need to be funded too, maybe it’ll help them,” said Hawa Fuseini, a local resident.

The dispensary would occupy suite 9, a short distance from the police station, and would have customers enter through a lobby where security checks IDs. Some residents have expressed relief that the dispensary would not be located near an elementary school.

The planning board will discuss the proposal at a meeting on Thursday night at 7 p.m. The dispensary’s move would bring a new business to the area, potentially making it more convenient for customers. However, employees of the police station and municipal court have declined to comment on the proposal.
