Joe Rogan Claims Kamala Harris’ Team Avoided Discussing Marijuana Legalization on His Podcast

Joe Rogan, a popular podcaster, has claimed that Kamala Harris’ team wanted to avoid discussing marijuana legalization during a potential interview that never happened. Rogan stated that Harris’ aides were concerned about a potential backlash from progressive supporters.

Rogan claimed that the Harris-Walz campaign had reached out to him about doing an interview, but ultimately, the scheduling never worked out. He also mentioned that the campaign had made other demands, including limiting the discussion to about an hour, which was shorter than his typical three-hour interviews.

Rogan’s guest on his podcast, comedian Adrienne Iapalucci, questioned why the campaign would deem discussion about legalizing pot out of bounds. Rogan speculated that Harris’ reluctance to discuss the topic was due to her record as a prosecutor, during which she put many people in jail for marijuana-related crimes.

Harris’ team had previously rolled out a suite of policies aimed at courting black male voters, including the legalization of marijuana. However, Rogan’s claims suggest that Harris’ team may have been hesitant to discuss the topic due to concerns about progressive backlash.

Rogan’s claims come after Trump’s wide-ranging interview with him, which drew nearly 50 million views on YouTube. Rogan has previously endorsed Trump for the presidency and has been critical of California and Democrats’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The article also mentions that several prominent Democrats have pointed to Harris’ failure to sit down with Rogan as a contributing factor in her defeat on November 5.
