Kentucky Awards 36 Medical Marijuana Dispensary Licenses
The Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis has announced the winners of the state’s first medical marijuana dispensary lottery, with 36 licenses awarded to applicants. The lottery was held earlier this week, and the winners will be able to open dispensaries in various counties across the state.
A map has been released showing the counties where the dispensaries will be located. While the exact locations are not specified, the map provides an overview of where the dispensaries will be situated. Not all of the 36 winners are listed on the map, as some applicants were awarded licenses in the same county and will be relocated within the region.
The next lottery is scheduled for December 16, which will include applications from Louisville and Lexington. The event will be streamed live on the Office of Medical Cannabis’ YouTube Channel.
This development marks a significant step forward for Kentucky’s medical marijuana program, which is expected to provide patients with access to medical cannabis for therapeutic purposes. The program is still in its early stages, but the awarding of these licenses is a major milestone in the state’s efforts to establish a comprehensive medical marijuana system.
