San Diego County’s First Cannabis Lounge Nears Completion
In National City, a three-story cannabis lounge called Sessions by the Bay is nearing completion. The innovative establishment will be the first of its kind in San Diego County, offering a unique experience for cannabis enthusiasts. The lounge will feature a downstairs dispensary, a second-floor lounge with food, drinks, and entertainment, and a third-floor rooftop lounge. The first two floors are expected to open by mid-January.
The owner and CEO, Alex Ayon, envisions Sessions by the Bay as a space where customers can not only purchase cannabis products but also enjoy a full experience. The lounge will allow customers to consume edibles, infused beverages, and smoke products on site, thanks to new state laws and local support.
Ayon emphasized that while Amsterdam’s cannabis cafes have pioneered the concept, Sessions by the Bay will take it to a new level. The lounge will share a parking lot with the Marina Gateway hotel and Kimball restaurant, located off Interstate 5 in National City.
Sessions by the Bay will be the first cannabis lounge in San Diego County, but it is likely not the last. The establishment is expected to set a new standard for cannabis lounges in the region.
