Kentucky Awards 36 Medical Marijuana Dispensary Licenses
The Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis has announced the winners of its first medical marijuana dispensary lottery, awarding 36 licenses to applicants across the state. The lottery was held this week, with the successful applicants selected from a pool of applicants vying for a spot in the state’s medical cannabis program.
A map has been released showing the counties where the 36 dispensaries will be located. While not all applicants are listed, the map provides a general idea of where the dispensaries will be situated. The next lottery is scheduled to take place on December 16, which will include applications from Louisville and Lexington. The event will be streamed live on the Office of Medical Cannabis’ YouTube Channel.
The successful applicants will be responsible for establishing and operating medical marijuana dispensaries in their designated counties, providing patients with access to medical cannabis products. The Kentucky medical cannabis program aims to provide relief to patients suffering from a range of medical conditions, including chronic pain, nausea, and muscle spasms.
