Ohio-Based Cannabis Company Acquires Former Bank Building in Dayton
Certified Cultivators, a leading cannabis company in Ohio, has purchased a former Key Bank branch building on Patterson Road in Dayton for nearly $2 million. The company plans to transform the property into a certified dispensary, its second location and first in the Dayton community.
Zach Weprin, a partner at Certified Cultivators, revealed that the dispensary will be similar to the company’s existing location in Cleveland, which features a drive-through lane. The Dayton site is expected to open in about six months and will employ around 30 full-time staff members, operating from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
The company, which is an Ohio-certified level 1 cultivator and processor through the state’s medical marijuana program, has a growth and processing lab on Springfield Street in Dayton. Weprin, who has a personal connection to the area, grew up in Oakwood and is excited to bring the company’s services to the community.
The dispensary will be located more than 500 feet away from a nearby addiction and mental health treatment facility, as required by state commerce rules. Weprin emphasized the company’s commitment to the medical component of cannabis and its goal to serve the Dayton community.
Certified Cultivators has been a prominent player in the Ohio cannabis industry since 2018, when it was awarded a provisional Level 1 license by the Ohio Department of Commerce. The company operates a 25,000-square-foot growing facility and manufactures a range of cannabis products, including lotions, ointments, capsules, patches, edibles, and oils.
The acquisition of the former bank building marks a significant milestone for the company, which is poised to expand its presence in the Dayton market.
