Oklahoma Marijuana Grow Operation Busted, 19 Arrested and Thousands of Plants Seized
A massive marijuana grow operation in Meeker, Oklahoma, was shut down on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of 19 individuals and the seizure of over 20,000 plants. The operation was raided by law enforcement, who had been investigating the site since it was robbed by five men from the East Coast a month prior.
The grow site, which had been a source of concern for neighbors due to its large size and potential for criminal activity, was searched with a search warrant. Officials from the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control, along with local law enforcement, were involved in the raid.
The operation was shut down due to concerns over the large quantity of marijuana being grown and sold, as well as potential ties to organized crime. The 19 individuals arrested will face charges related to drug trafficking and other crimes.
Neighbors who live near the grow site have expressed relief at the news, citing concerns over the potential for criminal activity and the impact it had on their quality of life. “I actually started looking for other houses to buy because of what was going on at that time,” said Carolyn Perry, who lives across from the grow site. “Now, I feel a bit safer.”
The investigation is ongoing, and officials have not yet released any information about the identities of those arrested or the specifics of the operation.
