A fire broke out at a medical marijuana facility in Gorham, Maine, prompting an investigation by the state fire marshal’s office. The blaze occurred at a 20,000-square-foot facility on County Road on Friday afternoon. Two employees attempted to extinguish the fire using chemical extinguishers, but ultimately, firefighters from the Gorham Fire Department were called to the scene to put out the flames. The two workers were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest that the fire was caused by a broken lightbulb falling onto a plastic table, sparking the blaze. The fire marshal’s office is working in conjunction with the Gorham Fire Department and the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy to investigate the incident further.
