Marijuana Bust Rocks Bowling Green: Authorities Seize 116 Pounds of Pot and Thousands of “Blunts”

A joint operation between local law enforcement agencies in Bowling Green, Kentucky, has led to the discovery of a significant amount of marijuana at three vape shops in the city. The Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force, along with the Bowling Green Police Department, Kentucky State Police, and Warren County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an investigation into allegations of illegal sales to minors at the stores.

Detectives from the task force made purchases at Smoke & Vape, Smoke & Vape Superstore, and Smoke Department over two months ago, and the plant material was later tested by the Kentucky State Police Laboratory. The results showed that the material contained between 18.1% and 29.8% THC, far exceeding the legal limit of 0.3% under state and federal law.

Search warrants were issued for the three stores, and authorities seized a substantial amount of marijuana and rolled marijuana “blunts” from each location. The haul included approximately 60 pounds of marijuana and 15,600 rolled marijuana “blunts” from Smoke & Vape, 54 pounds of marijuana and 5,400 rolled marijuana “blunts” from Smoke & Vape Superstore, and 2 pounds of marijuana and a handgun from Smoke Department.

The investigation is ongoing, and the seized samples will be re-tested for THC content. The findings will be presented to the Warren County Grand Jury by the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
