Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management Launches Grants for Farmers and Nonprofit Organizations

The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management has introduced a new program aimed at supporting farmers and nonprofit organizations in the cannabis industry. The CanGrow program will provide grants to organizations that offer education, training, and technical assistance to farmers looking to enter the cannabis market.

The CanGrow farmer training grants will range from $10,000 to $50,000, while the CanGrow farmer loan grants will provide low-interest loans ranging from $200,000 to $500,000. The program aims to help farmers build equity and make strategic investments in the cannabis industry.

According to OCM Interim Director Eric Taubel, the program is designed to provide farmers with the necessary support and tools to succeed in the cannabis market. “Providing farmers with financial opportunities to participate in Minnesota’s cannabis market is the best way to ensure they can build equity,” Taubel said.

The cannabis management office is expected to issue cannabis business licenses in the coming weeks. The CanGrow program is part of the office’s efforts to support the growth and development of the cannabis industry in Minnesota.
