Texas Man’s Bizarre Easter Scavenger Hunt Leaves Police Searching for Marijuana-Filled Eggs

Texas Police Search for Man Who Hid Marijuana-Filled Easter Eggs in City Parks

In a bizarre incident, a 23-year-old man, Avante Nicholson, has been accused of hiding plastic eggs filled with marijuana in city parks and offering clues to people who bought drugs from him on Easter Sunday. The eggs were found in three parks and a motel in Lufkin, Texas, about 133 miles northeast of Houston.

According to police, Nicholson posted about the eggs on Facebook, describing it as a “scavenger hunt.” He allegedly offered clues to people who bought drugs from him on the day of the event, leading them to find the eggs. The eggs contained more than a quarter of an ounce of marijuana.

Police issued four felony warrants for Nicholson’s arrest, including three counts of delivery of marijuana in a drug-free zone and one count of delivery of marijuana. Nicholson is still at large, and police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact CrimeStoppers.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of children in the community. Lufkin Police Chief David Thomas said, “Incidents like this are a reminder of why we take seriously all information called into our offices. The safety of our community is at the forefront of everything we do. And in cases such as this, when it endangers children, we are even more vigilant.”

Texas law prohibits the sale and delivery of marijuana, with penalties increasing depending on the amount sold or delivered. The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) provides information on Texas marijuana laws, which can be found online.
