Florida’s Medical Marijuana Registry Website Gets an Upgrade
The Florida Office of Medical Marijuana Use (OMMU) is revamping its medical marijuana registry website to provide a better user experience for patients and caregivers. The changes aim to improve security, performance, and accessibility, making it easier for users to navigate the site and access important information.
Key updates include a redesigned profile page, an improved electronic medical marijuana card application process, and a clearer order history. Patients and caregivers will now be able to easily track their monthly purchases and remaining available product, including aggregate totals and individual product categories.
Caregivers will also benefit from a new Documentation Dashboard, which will help them find necessary forms and documentation to qualify for the program.
The OMMU has also provided instructional guides at KnowTheFactsMMJ.com to help patients and caregivers understand the changes. For any questions or concerns, patients can reach out to the OMMU Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET at 850-245-4657 (option 1) or email MedicalMarijuanaUse@FLHealth.gov.
Meanwhile, two bills aimed at expanding Florida’s medical marijuana program, HB 555 and SB 552, have been indefinitely postponed and withdrawn from consideration. The bills would have made changes to the annual card renewal process, waived registration and renewal fees for veterans, and expanded the list of eligible medical conditions.
In Florida, medical marijuana is legal for residents diagnosed with specific conditions and who have received a Medical Marijuana ID Card. Caregivers may also apply for a Medical Marijuana Caregiver Card. The cost of a medical marijuana card is $75 annually, and patients must be re-approved every seven months by a medical marijuana doctor, with an additional cost for the visit.
