Colorado Recalls Marijuana Products Due to Pesticide Contamination
The Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division has issued a recall for pre-rolls and marijuana flower sold at approximately 40 dispensaries in the state due to pesticide contamination. The products in question were manufactured by Verv LLC, which does business as Dadirri, and were sold between April 24 and June 5.
According to the state officials, the products contained the pesticide chlorfenapyr, which is above the allowed limits set by state regulations. The contaminated THC distillate was purchased from another company before being infused into Dadirri’s products.
Initially, the products had passed lab tests, but subsequent testing revealed the contamination. Dadirri worked with state officials to issue a voluntary recall of the affected products, which include Caviar Creamsicle and Caviar Sherbert Pie flower and Strawberries N Cream pre-rolls.
Consumers who purchased one of the recalled products are advised to return it to the store where they bought it. Anyone who experienced adverse effects after consuming the products is urged to seek medical attention and report their reaction to the Marijuana Enforcement Division.
Dadirri’s CEO, Ashley Schriener, stated that the company prides itself on using high-quality inputs and prioritizing cleanliness. She acknowledged that this was an unprecedented issue and that the company acted quickly to address it.
The recall serves as a reminder of the importance of ensuring the quality and safety of marijuana products in the state. Consumers can check the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division’s website for more information on the recall and to report any adverse reactions.
