Kentucky’s First Medical Marijuana Dispensary to Open in Lexington

Lexington, KY – The state of Kentucky has officially announced its medical marijuana dispensary business licenses, with two recipients in Fayette County. One of the awarded licenses, KYLX Acquisition Company LLC, plans to set up its dispensary at the former Frisch’s Big Boy location on Sir Barton Way and Man O’ War. The new dispensary, named “Speakeasy,” is expected to open in early November.

Casey Flippo, CEO of Dark Horse Cannabis, shared details about the project, stating that the goal is to create a professional and immersive experience for customers. Unlike traditional cannabis retail, the dispensary will not feature graffiti or disorganized product displays. Instead, it will offer a wide range of products in accordance with Kentucky’s medical marijuana regulations.

Flippo, along with his business partner Sean Clarkson, brings extensive experience to the venture, having managed multiple markets and businesses. They believe their expertise will help them successfully launch and maintain the dispensary.

Demolition is nearly complete at the 1849 Alysheba Way location, and the team is eager to open its doors to the public. Flippo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of Kentucky’s first medical marijuana initiative, stating that the patient population will greatly benefit from the setup.

The Speakeasy dispensary is set to become one of the nicest in the state, offering a unique and systematic approach to medical cannabis retail. With its opening just around the corner, Kentucky residents can look forward to a new and innovative way to access medical marijuana.
