Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority Halts Dispensary Sales After Thousands of Failed Tests Revealed

Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority Issues Warning After Thousands of Failed Tests Revealed

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) has issued a warning to marijuana dispensaries in the state after it was discovered that a testing laboratory, Greenleaf Labs, had changed the results of thousands of tests from “passed” to “failed”. The laboratory’s mistake was attributed to “erroneous total yeast and mold testing”, which affected 19,000 samples.

As a result, OMMA has shut down Greenleaf Labs and is requiring dispensaries to remove the affected products from their inventory. The authority is also conducting a package tracing to institute a formal embargo and recall. Dispensaries are advised to take immediate action by removing the products and reporting any issues to OMMA.

For businesses that have submitted samples to Greenleaf Labs or are currently in the testing process, OMMA recommends creating new samples and sending them to a different laboratory for testing. Once the testing is complete, businesses should open a ticket with Metrc, which will update the testing status with OMMA.

This development is likely to cause disruption to the state’s medical marijuana industry, and OMMA is working to ensure that patients have access to safe and tested products. The authority has promised to keep the public informed of any further developments and to take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
