Oklahoma Authorities Bust Large-Scale Illegal Marijuana Operation
On September 10, 2025, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics’ Marijuana Enforcement Teams (MET) executed a search warrant at Ethereal Green, a grow operation located at 6505 W. 9th Street, as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal activities. The raid resulted in the seizure of 12,303 marijuana plants and 294 pounds of processed marijuana.
Seven individuals were taken into custody, with two being transferred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. The operation was supported by the Payne County Sheriff’s Office, the Payne County District 3 Commissioner’s Office, and ICE.
Oklahoma’s Marijuana Enforcement Teams were established in 2021 to combat the growing presence of criminal organizations setting up illegal marijuana operations in the state. These teams have focused on dismantling black market trafficking and fraudulent registration schemes, where individuals acquire OBN registrations through “straw ownership” arrangements.
Since the establishment of the teams, the number of active OBN-registered farms has decreased significantly, from 8,400 in 2022 to approximately 2,000 today. In addition, OBN MET agents have seized over 1.8 million illegal marijuana plants, more than 200,000 pounds of processed marijuana, and made over 300 arrests since 2022. The recent raid at Ethereal Green is the latest example of the state’s efforts to crack down on illegal marijuana operations and bring those involved to justice.
