Northern Kentucky’s First Medical Marijuana Dispensary Now Open for Business

Northern Kentucky Welcomes First Medical Marijuana Dispensary

A year after medical marijuana was legalized in Kentucky, the state’s seventh dispensary, Bluegrass CannaCare, has opened its doors in Florence. The former bank building is now home to a wide range of medical marijuana products, making it the first dispensary in the northern part of the state.

The dispensary’s staff ensures a smooth and regulated process for customers. Upon arrival, patients must present their medical card and state ID to a check-in agent, who will then guide them through the shopping experience. Bud-tenders are available to answer questions about the various products, including smoke-based consumables and edible gummies with medicinal benefits.

One of the dispensary’s first customers, Rachel Roberts, praised the store’s focus on locally sourced products. “I choose to buy here because I want a product that’s grown in Kentucky, tested in Kentucky, and processed in Kentucky,” she said. “I know I’m getting high-quality medicine.”

The dispensary’s proximity to Dayton, Kentucky, where some of the products are manufactured, is a major draw for customers. The store’s commitment to local production and regulation has earned it a loyal following.

Kentucky residents must obtain written certification from a licensed medical practitioner for a qualifying medical condition to enter and purchase products from the store. The dispensary is located at 6809 Burlington Pike and is open for business.
