Oklahoma’s Largest Illegal Marijuana Grow Bust Linked to Billion-Dollar Black Market
In a significant operation, the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, in collaboration with federal agencies, Homeland Security, the FBI, and local law enforcement, has conducted the largest bust yet on an alleged illegal marijuana grow. The massive operation, spanning over 30 acres and comprising 47 buildings in Prague, Oklahoma, was breached by agents on Wednesday morning.
The Attorney General, Gentner Drummond, emphasized the danger of the operation, citing the presence of armed guards and the sheer size of the grow. Drummond believes the operation is connected to a billion-dollar black market marijuana network run by Hao Chen, who has been accused of operating illegal marijuana operations across multiple states.
The bust is significant, as it follows a previous operation in New York City, where Chen was accused of running a massive illegal marijuana operation. The current facility, which was under the ownership of one of Chen’s lieutenants, has been under surveillance for the past three weeks.
The discovery of hundreds of marijuana plants in the buildings underscores the scale of the illegal operation. The Attorney General’s office and its partners are working together to dismantle the network and bring those responsible to justice.
