Georgia Expands Medical Cannabis Program, Bringing Relief to Patients

Governor Brian Kemp has officially signed Senate Bill 220, expanding Georgia’s medical cannabis program and bringing new hope to patients suffering from chronic pain and illness. The bill adds several new qualifying conditions, including Lupus, and allows medical cannabis cardholders to legally use the drug in a vaporized form.

Gary Long, CEO of Botanical Sciences, Georgia’s largest medical marijuana dispensary, believes the vaping provision will have a significant impact on his customers. “Patients are seeking instant relief, and inhaled cannabis products provide quicker relief for those suffering from conditions such as cancer, PTSD, multiple sclerosis, and chronic pain,” Long explained.

The expansion of Georgia’s medical cannabis program is a significant step forward for patients seeking alternative treatment options. With the new law, patients will have access to a wider range of products and methods, providing more effective relief from their symptoms.
