Ohio State University Issues Guidelines for 2024 Football Season: Marijuana Use, Drone Photography, and Air Quality Monitoring Banned

Ohio State University Police Division has issued guidelines for the upcoming 2024 football season, emphasizing that recreational marijuana use is prohibited both inside and outside Ohio Stadium. Deputy Chief Eric Whiteside emphasized that smoking, including recreational marijuana, is banned inside the stadium and that normal Ohio Revised Code rules apply outside. Additionally, the use of non-medical cannabis by individuals under 21 is prohibited, and those who provide cannabis to minors can face fines and possible jail time.

Other security measures include a ban on amateur drone photography during games, with police using drone detection technology to monitor the air above the stadium. Fans driving to the game should note that Cannon Drive is now limited to those with west stadium parking passes, with access only from the north and south.

Law enforcement will also be monitoring the air quality around the stadium using air monitoring devices, a measure aimed at preventing potential chemical attacks. As in previous years, fans will pass through metal detectors before entering the stadium, and the no bag policy remains in effect, with small bags permitted. Parking prices will remain cashless, ranging from $25 to $30 at the parking lots.

The Ohio State University Police Division is committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for fans attending games at Ohio Stadium.
