Missouri Regulators Revoke License of Springfield Marijuana Manufacturer

The Missouri Division of Cannabis Regulation has revoked the license of C&C Manufacturing LLC, a Springfield-based marijuana manufacturer, due to numerous violations of state and federal laws. The company was found to have created a distillate using unregulated THC, which was then used by other manufacturers to produce various cannabis products, including vapes, edibles, and pre-rolled joints.

The recall, which was announced last year, involved over 135,000 products and affected several brands, including Rove, Zen, and Packarillos. The company’s actions were deemed a clear disregard for the law and a threat to public health and safety.

According to the division’s director, Amy Moore, C&C’s use of unregulated THC and destruction of product and records in violation of orders demonstrates a lack of accountability and a disregard for the law. The company’s CEO, Matt Cummins, has not responded to requests for comment.

The recall was sparked by the discovery of unregulated THC being used in the production of cannabis products. The THC was created using a chemical modification process, which involves converting hemp-derived CBD into THC. This process has been used in other major recall cases, including one involving the company Delta Extraction.

Several manufacturers, including Hippos Cannabis, unknowingly purchased the distillate from C&C and used it to produce their own products. However, the CEO of Hippos Cannabis, Nick Rinella, emphasized that the products were properly tested before being released to the market and that no adverse reactions have been reported.

The division’s release states that the violations leading to C&C’s license revocation are numerous and include transporting marijuana outside of the state, selling products that did not originate from Missouri marijuana, and failing to preserve records and products as directed by the division.

The director of the division, Amy Moore, stated that the department enforces its regulations to uphold the Missouri Constitution and ensure safe access to marijuana products at licensed facilities. The revocation of C&C’s license serves as a warning to other manufacturers that the division will not tolerate violations of the law and will take action to protect public health and safety.
