Michigan Marijuana Processor Faces Two Formal Complaints for Violations
The Cannabis Regulatory Agency in Michigan has filed formal complaints against Exclusive Brands, a marijuana processing company based in Ann Arbor, for multiple violations. The complaints, which include 13 alleged infractions, accuse the company of failing to properly record transactions, maintain surveillance recordings, and keep accurate inventory records.
One complaint alleges that the company failed to track distillate, a highly purified marijuana product, and that over 10 pounds of marijuana could not be located at the business. The second complaint claims that the company’s director of operations was unable to provide access to the surveillance system when an inspector requested it.
The complaints also accuse Exclusive Brands of using untested distillate to create nearly 100 pounds of product and failing to properly tag dozens of bags of edibles. Additionally, the company was found to have 83 pounds of marijuana product that could not be located in the physical inventory, despite being recorded as having been distributed around the state.
The total value of the missing product is estimated to be nearly $350,000. When asked to explain the discrepancy, an employee reportedly said they “had no idea.”
Exclusive Brands has 21 days to request a hearing after receiving the complaints, and the Cannabis Regulatory Agency may impose fines or other sanctions if the company is found to have violated the regulations.
