New Mexico’s Cannabis Enforcement Bureau Takes Aim at Illegal Operations
As the state marks four years since the legalization of recreational cannabis, a new team of “cannabis cops” has been established to crack down on illegal cannabis operations. The Carver Family Farm, a licensed producer, is welcoming the move, stating that it will help to demonstrate the benefits of legal cannabis and improve the industry’s reputation.
Erika Hartwick Brown, Operations Coordinator at Carver Family Farm, expressed relief that the cannabis enforcement team is now working to support the industry, rather than being an adversary. She believes that this shift will help to promote a positive image of cannabis and treat licensed producers like any other legitimate businesses.
The New Mexico Cannabis Enforcement Bureau has been actively working to destroy illegal cannabis, but the exact amount of pounds destroyed has not been publicly disclosed. As the state continues to navigate the complex landscape of cannabis regulation, the establishment of this new team is seen as a step in the right direction towards promoting a safer and more responsible cannabis industry.
