Major Marijuana Bust in Georgetown

A routine traffic stop on I-35 in Georgetown, Texas, led to a significant drug seizure on August 21. According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy stopped a 2020 Honda Accord in the 4600 block of I-35 around 1 pm. The driver, an 18-year-old from San Antonio, was the only occupant of the vehicle.

When the deputy asked to search the vehicle, the driver refused, prompting the deputy to call in the K-9 Unit. The trained canine gave a positive indication of illegal substances inside the vehicle, leading the deputies to conduct a thorough search. As a result, they discovered and seized over 124 pounds of marijuana and more than $2,000 in cash.

The investigation is ongoing, and the status of the driver remains unclear. The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office has not released further information on the incident.
