Medical Cannabis Facility in Jeffersontown Helps Patients Find Relief from Chronic Conditions

Medical Cannabis Facility in Jeffersontown Helps Patients Obtain Certification

A medical cannabis facility in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, is providing patients with a new hope for managing their chronic conditions. BlueGrass CannaMed, a state-authorized facility, is helping patients become certified to use medical marijuana. Nurse practitioners at the facility are guiding patients through the verification process, which involves reviewing medical records and discussing their history with cannabis use.

Robert Jupin, a patient who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), was the first to visit the facility. He had been struggling with insomnia, anxiety, and nightmares for years and was hoping to find relief with medical marijuana. After a consultation with Chrystal Kelmanson, the owner and founder of BlueGrass CannaMed, Jupin was certified to use medical cannabis.

To qualify for a medical cannabis card, patients must be diagnosed with one of the six chronic conditions identified by the Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis, including cancer, chronic pain, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, chronic nausea, and PTSD. Once certified, patients can apply for a medical cannabis card on the state’s website, and the state will notify them of their application’s status within 30 days.

Andrea Homer, a nurse practitioner at BlueGrass CannaMed, said that patients often leave the facility with a sense of hope and relief, knowing that there is a treatment option available to help them manage their chronic conditions. Jupin, who received his medical cannabis card just 13 days after his appointment, is already experiencing positive results.

BlueGrass CannaMed has locations in Jeffersontown and Lexington, and patients can find a state-authorized medical marijuana practitioner near them by visiting the Kentucky Office of Medical Cannabis website.
