Massive Marijuana Grow Operation Shut Down in Oklahoma, 19 Arrested
A significant marijuana bust took place in Meeker, Oklahoma, resulting in the arrest of 19 individuals and the seizure of over 20,000 plants. The operation was shut down by law enforcement on Thursday, exactly one month after it was robbed by five men from the East Coast.
The grow site, which had been a source of concern for neighbors, was raided by authorities with a search warrant. The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control had initially been called in to investigate the site after noticing suspicious activity during a previous response to a robbery.
Neighbors who witnessed the raid expressed relief and gratitude, saying they had been affected by the grow’s presence for months. One resident, Carolyn Perry, had even considered moving due to the issues caused by the operation.
The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control has declined to comment on the arrests or the operation, citing an ongoing investigation. However, immigration officials were also involved in the raid, suggesting that some of those arrested may be undocumented immigrants.
The shutdown of the massive grow operation has brought a sense of relief to the community, with neighbors feeling safer now that the operation is no longer active.
