Medical Cannabis Dispensary Opens in Athens, Alabama
After five years of anticipation and preparation, Bama Bloom, a medical cannabis dispensary, officially opened its doors in Athens, Alabama. The grand opening marks a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to provide medical cannabis treatment to patients.
Renu Patel, Vice President of Operations at Bama Bloom, expressed excitement and relief at the dispensary’s opening. “Everyone is eager for us to open, and we’re thrilled to finally bring medical cannabis treatment to North Alabama,” she said.
Bama Bloom is the third medical cannabis dispensary to open in the state and the only one licensed to operate in North Alabama. Patients must meet specific requirements to enter the dispensary, including having a qualifying condition, a valid registration with the Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission, a valid ID, and a medical cannabis recommendation from an AMCC-licensed doctor.
The dispensary offers a range of products, including tablets and sprays, all of which are grown and manufactured in-state. Athens Limestone County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Pammie Jimmar hailed the decision to locate the dispensary in Athens as a significant achievement for the entire Tennessee Valley.
“This is a celebration for our community and North Alabama, as it provides relief to those in need,” Jimmar said.
Bama Bloom is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Patients seeking more information on becoming a medical cannabis patient can visit the AMCC’s website.
