Dallas Mavericks Guard Brandon Williams Arrested for Marijuana Possession at DFW Airport

Dallas Mavericks guard Brandon Williams was arrested on Saturday at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) after a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screener found a green leafy substance that tested positive for THC in his suitcase.

According to the DFW Airport Department of Public Safety report, Williams was arrested around 10 a.m. in Terminal C. The TSA screener discovered the substance, which Williams claimed was packed by someone else, during a routine security check.

Williams was taken into custody and charged with possession of less than 2 ounces of marijuana. The Dallas Mavericks have yet to comment on the incident.

The incident is still under investigation, and it is unclear how the substance ended up in Williams’ luggage. The 27-year-old guard has not publicly commented on the arrest.

This is not Williams’ first run-in with the law. In 2020, he was arrested for public intoxication in Dallas.
