Georgia Law Enforcement Cracks Down on Violent Mexican Cartel with Heavily Fortified Stash House Bust

Georgia Law Enforcement Uncovers Heavily Fortified Stash House Linked to Violent Mexican Cartel

In a recent operation, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) uncovered a heavily fortified stash house in Atlanta’s Vine City neighborhood, which was linked to the Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG), a violent Mexican drug cartel. The stash house was found to be equipped with multiple layers of protection, including steel bars mounted on the inside of doors and windows, as well as audio and video surveillance systems for remote monitoring.

The GBI, along with local and federal partners, executed search warrants at several homes and businesses in Atlanta, Sandy Springs, and Woodstock, resulting in the arrest of three suspects, including two Mexican nationals and one local resident. The suspects were found to be in possession of over 500 pounds of marijuana, packaged and ready for sale, as well as nine firearms.

The CJNG is a transnational cartel that is classified as a violent organization by U.S. authorities, responsible for major drug and weapon trafficking into the United States. The cartel has been linked to various criminal activities, including fuel theft, fraud, and ammunition procurement.

The GBI’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office is continuing to investigate the drug trafficking network, with more arrests likely to follow. The public is encouraged to report any information about drug activity in Georgia to the GBI’s Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office or submit an anonymous tip online.

The discovery of the heavily fortified stash house is a significant blow to the CJNG’s operations in Georgia, and it highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking organizations.
