Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Patients Can Now Use Digital Verification to Access Dispensaries

The Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) has introduced a new policy allowing patients to use their official approval email or OMMA MedPortal record as a valid form of identification to purchase medical marijuana products at dispensaries. This move aims to ensure timely access to medical marijuana for patients who previously had to wait for their physical OMMA card to arrive in the mail.

Typically, it takes around two weeks for a new OMMA card to be mailed to patients after their application is approved. This delay meant that patients could not visit dispensaries and purchase cannabis products until they received their physical license. With the new policy, patients can now access dispensaries and make purchases as soon as they receive their OMMA approval email or log into their OMMA MedPortal record.

The OMMA implemented this change to address the inconvenience caused by the waiting period and to provide patients with quicker access to the medical marijuana products they need.
