A Shooting at a Cannabis Dispensary Leaves One Injured and a Man Charged
A violent altercation at a cannabis dispensary in Peña Blanca, Sandoval County, has left a woman injured and a man facing multiple charges. According to authorities, Colin Dana Sandoval, the owner of Loonie Zoonie Cannabis, fired his gun at a man and a woman who refused to leave the store on Tuesday evening.
The incident began around 6:30 pm when the two individuals entered the dispensary and refused to comply with Sandoval’s requests to leave. As the situation escalated, Sandoval fired a “warning shot” and then a second round, which caused his gun to malfunction and struck the back of the woman’s head, leaving her with a bleeding wound.
Sandoval was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and negligent use of a deadly weapon. He was released from jail on Wednesday on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on February 11.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and authorities are still trying to determine the motive behind the altercation. The woman who was injured is receiving medical treatment and is expected to recover from her injuries.
