Medical Cannabis Expected to Become Available in Alabama Within Months
Huntsville, Alabama – After years of legal disputes, medical cannabis is set to become accessible to patients in Alabama within the next two to three months. The state has begun issuing licenses to dispensaries across the state, including in North Alabama.
Dr. Clinton Scott Williams, a family physician with over 25 years of experience in Huntsville, is one of the first five doctors authorized to recommend medical cannabis. Dr. Williams, who has been a part of the community for decades, emphasized the importance of responsible use.
“Medical cannabis can be a valuable tool, but it’s essential to use it wisely,” Dr. Williams said. “I will only recommend it to established patients who have exhausted other treatment options.”
Dr. Williams plans to carefully consider each patient’s situation before recommending medical cannabis, prioritizing their well-being and safety above all else. With his certification, he aims to provide a new treatment option for patients who may benefit from it, while also promoting responsible use.
