Medical Marijuana Sales in Arkansas Experience Slight Decline in 2026

A recent report from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration reveals that the state’s medical marijuana sales have experienced a slight decline in the first six months of 2026. According to the report, total sales for the period came to $140.3 million, a decrease from the $144 million recorded in the same period last year, which was an all-time high for the state.

The average purchase amount at state dispensaries was $75.14, and the state collected $16.8 million in medical marijuana tax revenue from January to June, including proceeds from the 6.5% sales tax and 4% privilege tax. The top five dispensaries in terms of total sales were Natural Relief Dispensary in Sherwood, Suite 443 in Hot Springs, CROP Dispensary in Jonesboro, Harvest Dispensary in Conway, and Custom Cannabis in Alexander.

The Arkansas Department of Health reported a total of 119,074 active patient cards, an increase from 110,539 in July 2025. The report will be updated once finalized, and officials have stated that the decline in sales may be due to various factors, including changes in consumer behavior and the state’s ongoing efforts to regulate the industry.

The slight decline in sales comes as the Trump administration has reclassified state-licensed medical marijuana as less dangerous, which could potentially impact the industry’s growth and development in the future.
