Cannabis Stocks Show Signs of Recovery: Innovative Industrial Properties and Trulieve Cannabis Lead the Way
Despite the inherent risks associated with the cannabis industry, the sector is continuing to exhibit growth. Regulated sales are expected to reach $43 billion by 2030, a significant increase from the estimated $29.1 billion in 2025.
Two standout companies, Innovative Industrial Properties (IIPR) and Trulieve Cannabis (TRLV), are demonstrating a turnaround. Innovative Industrial Properties, a real estate investment trust (REIT), is the leading provider of real estate services to the cannabis industry. Trulieve Cannabis, on the other hand, has consistently been one of the most profitable cannabis retailers.
Both companies have reported higher second-quarter profits, with stronger balance sheets compared to their peers. As a result, their shares have risen significantly so far this year. While the cannabis industry is still considered high-risk, these two companies are showing signs of resilience and potential for long-term growth.
