Two Men Arrested After 1,500 Pounds of Marijuana Found in U-Haul Truck

Butte County Sheriff’s Office deputies made a significant discovery on Wednesday when they pulled over a U-Haul truck for speeding on Highway 70 in Oroville, California. The truck was carrying an astonishing 1,500 pounds of marijuana plants.

The driver, Michael Daley of Oakland, was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana and illegal transportation of drugs. A passenger in the truck was also taken into custody.

According to deputies, Daley admitted to smoking marijuana about 30 minutes before driving and was visibly impaired. The California Highway Patrol was called to the scene, and further investigation of the U-Haul truck revealed the massive haul of marijuana.
