Armed Robbers Steal 150 Pounds of Marijuana from Grass Valley Cannabis Farm
In a brazen armed robbery, thieves stole approximately 150 pounds of processed marijuana from a licensed cannabis farm in Grass Valley, California, early Thursday morning. The incident occurred at a property on Sunshine Valley Road, where five employees lived and worked.
According to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of trespassing and a possible break-in at the farm. Upon arrival, they discovered that the employees had been held at gunpoint while they were sleeping. Fortunately, no one was injured during the robbery.
The thieves, who were all wearing masks and gloves, made off with the stolen marijuana, which is valued at $1,000 per pound. The total value of the stolen marijuana is estimated to be around $150,000.
The sheriff’s office reported that the property’s surveillance cameras were disabled, making it more challenging to identify the suspects. Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the sheriff’s special investigation unit at 530-265-1471.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of security measures in the cannabis industry, particularly in areas where valuable products are stored. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to apprehend the suspects and recover the stolen marijuana.
