Bellefonte to Welcome First Medical Marijuana Dispensary
Terrapin Care Station, a medical marijuana dispensary, is set to open its doors in Bellefonte, marking the town’s first new business of 2025. The dispensary, located at 205 Park Place, Suite 1, will be the company’s first care station in Pennsylvania, with plans to expand to Lewisburg and Lock Haven.
Terrapin, which was founded in 2009 in Boulder, Colorado, currently sells products in over 170 dispensaries across Pennsylvania, including four in the State College area. The company’s CEO, Chris Woods, is a Penn State graduate and Pennsylvania native.
Bellefonte Borough Manager Ralph Stewart expressed optimism about the new business, stating that the owners are “good, community-minded people” who will make positive contributions to the town. The dispensary will offer a range of products, including vapes, concentrates, medical remedies, and various strains of cannabis. A drive-thru window will also be available for customers.
Initially, the dispensary was set to open this month, but a rescheduled Pennsylvania Department of Health inspection has delayed the opening until early January. According to Terrapin’s vice president of communications, Peter Marcus, the delay will allow for a thorough inspection and ensure that everything is operational before opening.
Bellefonte will also welcome two other new businesses in the new year: the Courthouse Pub, a restaurant collaboration between Brother’s N.Y. Style Pizza and Robin Hood Brewing Co., and the Shaky Hands Coffee Shop, Bees Knees Coffee’s first sit-down location.
More information about Terrapin and its products can be found on the company’s website.
