Exclusive Video: Law Enforcement Agencies Team Up to Rescue Marijuana Grow Facility Employees, Arrest Suspects
In a swift and coordinated response, nearly a dozen law enforcement agencies from Lincoln and Pottawatomie counties rushed to the scene of a marijuana grow facility robbery in Meeker, Oklahoma, in the early hours of the morning. The dramatic rescue operation, which was captured on video, resulted in the safe release of employees who had been tied up by the robbers and the arrest of the five suspects.
According to Lincoln County Sheriff Kevin Garrett, the employees were bound with ropes and were in a precarious situation when law enforcement arrived on the scene. Garrett credited the use of drones with providing a bird’s-eye view of the situation, allowing officers to quickly locate and apprehend the suspects.
The suspects, who are believed to be from out of state, have not been linked to any other recent grow facility robberies in the area. The swift response and successful apprehension of the suspects have been met with gratitude from neighbors, who praised the bravery and professionalism of the law enforcement agencies involved.
“It’s a relief that it was a quick response and everyone is safe,” said Rebecca Bell, who lives across the street from the grow facility. “If they’re from out of state, it’s even more concerning. It’s not just a local trying to steal from someone for marijuana, it’s a bigger issue.”
