Massachusetts Cannabis Board Warns of Contaminated Marijuana Products
The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission has issued a health advisory warning consumers about several marijuana products that have been found to contain yeast and mold above acceptable limits. The affected products were sold at various retailers and medical marijuana treatment centers across the state.
The products in question include Slap N Tickle, Tiger’s Eye, Carbon Fiber, Frosted Jungle, Highland OG, and Silver Kush. They were sold between September 18 and January 30, and some were found to have yeast and mold levels above the acceptable threshold.
According to the commission, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the contaminated products. However, anyone who has purchased these products is advised to destroy or return them to the retailer and contact the store. If consumers experience any adverse health effects after using the products, they are urged to seek medical attention and contact the store where they purchased the product.
The commission has released a list of affected products, including their strain, batch number, and the retailers and medical marijuana treatment centers that sold them. The list includes:
* Slap N Tickle and Tiger’s Eye: sold at East Boston Local Roots, Bud Barn, Liberty Cannabis, Indica, and Capital Cannabis
* Carbon Fiber, Frosted Jungle, Highland OG, and Silver Kush: sold at 253 Organic, Ashli’s, KG Collective, Holistic Industries, Enlite Cannabis Dispensary, Herbal Pathways, Great Barrington Retail, 6 Bricks, Cypress Tree Management, Erba C3 Dorchester, Massachusetts Citizens for Social Equity, Rooted In, Smokey Leaf, ARL Healthcare, and others.
Consumers are advised to check the products they have purchased against the list and take action if necessary. The commission is working with retailers and medical marijuana treatment centers to ensure that affected products are removed from the market.
In the meantime, the commission is urging consumers to prioritize their health and safety when purchasing marijuana products. It is also working to improve testing and compliance protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
