Rockland County’s First Recreational Cannabis Dispensary Now Open in Nyack
After a long and challenging journey, Treehouse Cannabis, the first officially licensed adult-use recreational cannabis dispensary in Rockland County, has finally opened its doors in Nyack. The dispensary, owned by Seth Marks, has been a dream come true for the entrepreneur, who has been working towards this goal for years.
Marks’ journey to opening the dispensary began when a friend informed him about the state’s Conditional Adult-Use Retail Dispensary program in 2021. This program allows existing business owners who have been affected by discriminatory marijuana-related incarceration to obtain a license to sell cannabis products. Marks, who was previously incarcerated for six months in 1995 for selling marijuana, saw this as an opportunity to turn his life around.
With the help of his stepson, Ricky Rojas, Marks transformed a former car dealership on Route 59 in Nyack into Treehouse Cannabis, Rockland’s first and only marijuana dispensary delivery service with a state license. After months of delays, the storefront is now open and offering a range of cannabis products and services, including pickup and delivery options.
Treehouse Cannabis is open Monday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Marks expressed his gratitude and sense of pride at being the first recreational dispensary in Rockland County, stating, “We are just so blessed to be here today.”
The dispensary’s opening marks a significant milestone in the growing cannabis industry in New York, and Marks is committed to providing a welcoming and educational environment for his customers. With its unique history and commitment to community, Treehouse Cannabis is poised to become a staple in the Nyack community.
