Grady County Sheriff’s Office and Local Law Enforcement Foil Marijuana Business Robbery, Pursue Suspects
In a swift response, Grady County deputies, Chickasha police, and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol intervened in a robbery attempt at a marijuana business near State Highway 81 and County Road 1310. The incident led to a high-speed chase and the arrest of several suspects, while others remain at large.
According to Sheriff Gary Boggess, around 10 to 12 suspects attempted to rob the facility, prompting a pursuit of two vehicles. One vehicle entered Interstate 44 in the wrong direction and crashed in a construction zone near Country Club Road, resulting in the apprehension of the suspects. The other vehicle was pursued by an OHP trooper and crashed near Highways 39 and 62, with three occupants exiting the vehicle.
The sheriff believes the suspects are part of a gang from Dallas, Texas, targeting marijuana grows in Oklahoma. The gang has been linked to previous incidents in Lincoln, Stephens, and Jefferson counties.
Although the suspects did not manage to steal anything from the marijuana business, two other vehicles involved in the robbery managed to escape and are believed to have returned to Dallas. The sheriff confirmed that law enforcement is working with Dallas County and Dallas PD to apprehend the remaining suspects.
The swift response of law enforcement prevented the suspects from stealing any assets from the marijuana business, and the investigation is ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects.
