FBI Agents Conduct Raid on Senator’s Office and Cannabis Store in Portsmouth, Virginia
On Wednesday morning, the FBI executed a court-authorized search warrant at the office of Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas and a cannabis store in Portsmouth, Virginia. The raid, which was carried out in the parking lot outside the store, drew a crowd of onlookers who gathered across the street.
FBI agents, dressed in military fatigues, were seen entering and exiting Lucas’ office, which is located in the same block as the cannabis store. The store, known as The Cannabis Outlet, has Senator Lucas listed as the applicant in state business records, although its current status is listed as inactive.
The FBI issued a statement saying that the raid was conducted to execute a federal search warrant and that there was no threat to public safety. However, the agency did not provide any further information about the investigation.
Senator Lucas was unavailable for comment, and it is unclear what the FBI is searching for or what the investigation is related to. The situation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
