New York’s Legal Cannabis Industry Takes Center Stage at 2026 Great New York State Fair

New York’s Legal Cannabis Industry Makes Debut at 2026 Great New York State Fair

For the first time, a cannabis advocacy group has set up a booth at the Great New York State Fair, providing a platform for fairgoers to learn about New York’s legal cannabis market and responsible consumption. The Empire State Green Standard Alliance, a new advocacy group, aims to empower consumers and promote New York-grown cannabis.

The group’s booth at the fair is a result of recent legislation that expands the opportunities for cannabis microbusinesses to participate in events and showcases. This move builds on previous laws that allowed licensed businesses to sell products at approved pop-ups, farmers markets, and public markets.

Herb Barbot, board chair of the Empire State Green Standard Alliance, emphasized the importance of having a presence at the fair. “With nearly a million visitors attending the state fair, we wanted to reach consumers in New York State and inform them about our advocacy group, which represents their interests in the growing cannabis industry.”

The Empire State Green Standard Alliance aims to educate consumers about responsible cannabis use and promote the growth of New York’s cannabis industry. The group’s booth at the fair is a significant step in achieving this goal, providing a platform for consumers to engage with the industry and learn more about the products available.
