According to data released by the Department of Consumer Protection, the average price per gram fell from $10.57 in January 2025 to $7.69 in December 2025, and continued to decline to $6.61 per gram by August 2025.
While lower prices may be a boon for consumers, retailers may need to sell more products to maintain their revenue. Connecticut legalized recreational marijuana in June 2021, and recreational sales began in January 2023, joining the state’s existing medical marijuana program. Today, there are 76 licensed cannabis retail locations in the state, offering a range of products including flower, vape cartridges, edibles, and more.
The state’s price per gram data represents the average cost of a gram of cannabis, but does not account for the varying prices of individual products. Despite the decline in prices, cannabis retailers are still selling a wide range of products, and customers can purchase multiple items in a single transaction.
